Verse Athletics is a football training organization aimed at growing the game of football in Canada. At V.A., we are dedicated to helping high school football players access elite-level training, education, and experiences at an affordable cost. Our programs, including training sessions, tournaments, and showcase camps, provide athletes with the tools to excel both on the field and in the classroom. This year alone, we have already helped dozens of athletes earn roster and scholarship offers to universities and colleges.

Our training mirrors the standards and intensity of university-level programs, preparing athletes for the demands of U Sports, CJFL, and beyond. With strong coaching connections and recruitment pathways, we give players the exposure they need to take the next step. More than just performance, Verse Athletics builds discipline, accountability, leadership, and teamwork—the foundation of long-term success in sport and life.

Our Story

Yinka Ogunnote and Emilio Arruda founded Verse Athletics football after experiencing firsthand the recruitment and training barriers faced by developing athletes. Both coaches share a commitment to providing the next generation of players with the opportunities they lacked in their youth.

Verse Athletics (formerly known as APA Football) was established in December 2024, beginning with training sessions that continued throughout the 2025 winter and spring seasons. During this time, the program entered two teams in the Bolla Bowl in Burlington, ON (February 2025) and one U18 team in the Battle at the Border tournament in Welland, ON (April 2025). We also hosted the You Verse You Showcase, an invite-only skills camp that allowed athletes to be evaluated firsthand by university football scouts.

In the upcoming year, Verse Athletics plans to expand by entering additional events, introducing a U16 7v7 team, increasing community involvement, collaborating with university coaches, and hosting our own tournament.

Verse Athletics will also continue to grow its presence on social media platforms, including the launch of a new YouTube channel.
